About Yukon

Yukon, Oklahoma is probably most well known as the hometown of country superstar Garth Brooks, but almost as famous as the country singer himself is the Oklahoma Czech Festival held annually in Yukon. Each year thousands of visitors come from miles around to experience one of Oklahoma's largest ethnic festivals, featuring music, a parade, costumed dances, crafts and plenty of Czech delicacies. During the winter months, Yukon hosts the largest drive-thru lights show in Oklahoma.  Motorists from across the country drive along nearly three miles of illuminated fun in three inter-connected city parks to see over 5 million twinkling lights and over 500 one-of-a-kind lighted displays. Attendants can walk through the park, ride the train, and even ice skate during the festival.

Yukon sprang into existence in 1891 as a farming community and hasn't stopped growing. The Yukon Historical Museum, located in a 1910 school building, showcases the town's rich heritage.  Yukon marks the junction of two iconic routes that Americans have long traveled in pursuit of a brighter future. Some might say that, along with being where Route 66 crosses the Chisholm Trail, Yukon is at the junction of optimism and grit. Diverse retail offerings and restaurants attract guests from across the region. It's plentiful amenities combined with affordability make the quality of life here exceptional. Business Week magazine named Yukon Best Affordable Suburb in 2009!
